STI and RTI Services

  Several studies revealed that STD is one of the determinants for the HIV transmission. The studies have shown that STD prevalence in the adult population is about 4 to 6 percent. In Rajasthan, considering 50 percent population, as calculated to be near about 2.82 million populations are sexually active. Out of this sexually active population 6 percent is the total case load for STI and RTI in the state of Rajasthan. Cases treated by the RSACS over the years are given in the table below. The data revealed that numbers of cases treated over past eight years.

In Rajasthan minimum STI and RTI services are available in all PHCs, CHCs, first referral units (FRUs).The specialization of STI/RTI clinics is available in all Medical Colleges and most of the district hospitals. All TIs have established exclusive STI and RTI services and linkages with existing qualified service providers. NACO is supporting the 47 STI clinics in the states and one time budgetary support has been received by RSACS for strengthening infrastructure for these STI clinics.
